Show Racism The Red Card

a visual art competition
for primary school students

On the 21st of March we celebrate the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.

Waterford Integration Services (WIS), Waterford Area Partnership and Waterford Libraries are hosting Waterford’s 3rd Anti-Racism Month for the entire month of March. To mark and celebrate this, Waterford Integration Services alongside Waterford Libraries and Europe Direct, Waterford are launching a visual art competition for primary school students.

Students of all classes (junior to sixth) are invited to submit one entry under the theme “Show Racism the Red Card”.

How to take part:
On a sheet of paper create your masterpiece! Feel free to sketch, paint or craft your creation with the theme “Show Racism the Red Card”.

The winner’s piece will be printed professionally and displayed in the Central library as well as touring libraries throughout the county. Original art pieces will be needed for this.

The Awards Ceremony will also feature winning poems from secondary school students.

Submission of entry gives permission to Waterford Integration Services and Waterford Libraries to share the artwork on our websites and social media platforms.

Waterford Libraries and Waterford Integration Services reserve the right to refuse entries that contradict the ethos of anti-racism.

Winners may be asked to have their photographs taken in regard to competition publicity.

Entry into the competition will be taken as unconditional acceptance of these terms and conditions.
